Merry Christmas........

We added 2 little pre-lit trees to the front porch decorations.
We got them as a gift from Terry and Vic (Beck's mom + dad.) Thanks Terry and Vic!
We also decided not to put up any lights on the house this year. Staying with the wreaths, the trees and the candles in the windows. Simple but pretty.




Also, we didn't want to put tape or tacks in the woodwork around any of the door frames for Christmas cards so we hung garland from the woodwork in between the breakfast/kitchen area and the great room and hung our cards on that with paperclips. It worked out pretty well. Here's a couple pictures of the tree it's finally finished!! HO HO HO!!

We put one of those little Christmas villiages on the mantel of the keeping room fireplace. Keeping room you say??? Don't ask 'cause we don't know either... thats just what it said on house plans. It is a room off the kitchen and breakfast area with a fireplace in it. The big guy likes to lie down there sometimes.

Then there's the tree!!

We wanted to get a big one because the ceilings are so high and we've both always wanted a big tree. So we got a big one!

The wreaths on the door are the one's Beck and I decorated. Well, she decorated I was more like moral support.

Outside of house.....at night

Here are a few shots of the outside of the house at night. I put in some accent lighting recently that lights up the 4 columns on the front porch. Click on the pictures to make them bigger.





And here are a few of the decorations that we've put up so far. Becky made the bow for the mailbox and we bought the 4 wreaths and added the decorations to them.

The Big Guy

Many of you have asked how the big guy is since the move to Georgia. Well I otta tell ya Cecil seems happier than ever. He has SO much more room to roam around and he loves it. That's him in the hallway on the way to the garage. He has been sleeping in the bedroom with us and has been a very good boy about not waking us up and he stays in the master bedroom all day and has been great about not getting into anything while we are at work. We plan to fence in the backyard in the spring and then he won't have to be on a chain anymore. I bet he will absolutely love that. I asked him if he wanted to add anything to this message and he said "gurrewwooo" or something Chewbacca-like.

We saw some great friends... we miss you guys, we saw some family (not enough family but only so much time)
AND.....

We went to Sam and Meg's wedding reception (#2) while we were in Mass. from 11/4 - 11/7... aren't they a happy couple. For those of you we didn't get a chance to see... "we miss you very much and we are sorry" and for those of you we did see.. "it was great seeing you"

We had no less than 9 friends stay at our house that week... crazy times, mucho alcohol, kinda like a ski trip!

Helen, GA

Over the summer when Beck's mom was visiting we went to Helen, GA. It's about 30 minutes north of us in the north Georgia mountains. It's set up like a little German village (notice the orange rooftops) with lots of shops, restaurants, cobblestone roads and river running through town with tubing in the summer. We had a great day!
