Donny With POWER TOOLS!!

I know it might be hard to believe but I actually do own power tools. The shelves you see in these pictures were built by Sam and I. I have most Saturdays off and have been going to Sams house to build stuff.

The tall shelf was built first. To be honest with you Sam did most of the cutting and nailing on the first shelf while I helped and then wood puttied and sanded. I'm going to paint it red and then black over it. Then I will sand off some of the black so the red shows through. It's going to go in the great room. Then on the second piece I cut alot of the wood, nailed and glued alot of it together. It was really cool to create something. I'm going to paint it the same white as Bray's room and thats where it's going.

Decorating the kitchen

We decided to decorate on top of the kitchen cabinets. Because of the height of the ceilings it looked kinda plain. We got a couple items as presents and we bought most of the other things at a store called Hobby Lobby. My mom would have loved that place!!

Back yard part 2

It's Finished!!!!! The yard came out great. It will take a couple of weeks to take root and to green up all the way. For now we have to water it 3 times a day but it's finally done!We transplanted the big tree from the front yard to the middle in the back. Then we had 6 Leyland Cyprus trees, 3 on either side. Then had 2 Spirea bushes planted in the corners.
The bushes will eventually get about 6 foot by 6 foot and the trees can grow to be 60 feet tall!!! Granted that won't be for 20 to 30 years.

The back yard part 1

When we bought the house it comes with 20 pallets of sod (grass) and then they seed and straw your back yard to grow grass for the rest. 20 pallets is a little over 10,000 square feet of grass and covered our front and side yards and about 10 feet off the back. The part they seeded and strawed never grew.

We had to wait until spring to have the back regraded so we could have it sodded. 17 more pallets of sod later and the back yard is on its way.........

Savannah Georgia

We went to Savannah Georgia for the day on Saturday May 20th. We got to visit Doug (bass player in my last 2 or 3 bands) and his family at his new house about 10 minutes from Savannah.

This city is very cool and rich in history. One of its more famous areas is River Street. River Street is a cobble stone street with tons of restaurants and shops. There were a few candy shops where they make the candy right there that we visited.

I also got a picture of the pregnant lady (even though from far away) with a people bridge behind her. We did a trolley tour of the city and had dinner at a little place on River Street. All in all a very fun day. Savannah is about a 3 1/2 to 4 hour drive from our house.

Meg's Baby Shower at Our House...

We had Meg's baby shower at our house. Sam, Beck and I decorated the house. Zaxby's (a fried chicken restaraunt in GA.... yummy!) catered, Becky made some desserts and people also brought food with them.... salad, egg rolls, pasta and more.

They got tons of great presents and we had a great day.
Sam videotaped and took pictures. Beck wrote down what Meg got and from who and I helped hand out the presents and then stack them aside.

The Baby Shower!!

Becky won't let me take any pictures of her while she's pregnant. So pictures of the shower are all you get :-( ..... sorry.

We got so much great stuff and can't thank everyone enough. It was so great to be in Mass. and be able to see that many family members and friends all in one place!

Bray's room part 2

Here are a few more pictures of the room. If you enlarge the 2 crib pictures, you can see the shelf across the back of the room that Sam and I built!

His closet is pretty full, thanks to everyone at the shower and Beck's mom....

The other pictures are of the crib and changing table that we bought with all the gift cards we got from the shower...... THANKS EVERYONE!!

The Baby's (Bray's) Room

For those of you that have been to the house we turned the sports room (or man town as some of you know it) into the baby's room.

For those of you that haven't been here yet, shame on you!!! Just kidding..... We turned one of the downstairs bedrooms into the baby's room. We went with a Nautica for Kids theme. We painted the room two tone blue and white and Sam and I put up the border after it was painted. You can see two of my mom's paintings that we got framed (thanks so much to Cynthia, a friend of ours that owns a frame shop here) on the wall. The one next to the closet is of me and my dad!! You can click on the pictures to see a larger image.

The Movie Room

The movie room is finally finished (well almost, we have one more poster coming). Sam and I made the frames for the movie posters at his house and I sanded and painted them. Becky and I Painted the room.

We got the cool "check mark"shelves for the dvds at IKEA!
We bought a HUGE sectional couch for the room. We just didn't get the corner wedge and left it as a big straight couch with a chaise at the end. Its about 14 feet long! It also has a sleep sofa for when we have too many guests to fit in the guest bedrooms, we can just make this another.

The Georgia Aquarium

The Georgia Aquarium is the largest aquarium in the world with over 8 million gallons of water and over 100,000 animals.

We have already been to the aquarium 3 times since we became members.

We have so many pictures from the couple times we've been ther that we thought we should do another blog posting just to put up more pics.

It was built right in the heart of Atlanta next to Centennial Olympic Park, Phillips Arena, The CNN Center and The Georgia Dome. Also they've almost finished building the new World of Coke museum right next door.

Georgia Aquarium... posting # 2

We had already become members and hadn't even been there yet !!!! (there was alot of hype) Let me tell you though.....This place is amazing. Even though we've already been a bunch of times and will gladly go again anytime you guys come to visit!

You get to walk through an acrylic tunnel (under the huge tank in the Ocean Voyager section) or stand in front of a gigantic acrylic viewing window (its 23 ft. tall by 61 ft. high!!!!), and you will feel like a scuba diver in an endless blue sea, mesmerized by nearly 100,000 fishes swimming overhead including whale sharks.... they are my favorite... or maybe its the beluga whales...... or the tropical river... or the hammer head sharks.. or .... can you tell I like this place :-)
